Democrats Love Evolution

Woody Allen Dictator Comment

From the L.A. Times:  Woody Allen would like Obama to become a Dictator for a few years.

How many times during the eight years of Bush's administration did we hear that GWB was trying to become a dictator?  How many conservatives ever called on Bush to become a dictator?

Mr. Allen, the constitution was written for people who think the way you think.  There is a reason that the powers of the government are supposed to be separated, and not in the hands of a single person.  There is a reason that one party can "get in the way" of another party.  Our founders were trying to prevent the formation of another tyranny in the world.

Woody, please go back and learn some history. I figured you, of all people, would know how dictatorships turn out. Specifically, go back and learn about the dictatorship of a guy named Adolf.

Just an FYI, most presidents

Just an FYI, most presidents have expanded the powers of the executive, perhaps allen's statement isn't a wish, but a statement of the inevitable.

Of course, we will still cling to our farcical right is right or left is right partisanship, praising marx or the teaparty, while the real issues go unheralded

I agree with one part of your comment.

You are right that most presidents have expanded the powers of the executive, but I don't think you are correct when you put Karl Marx Supporters on one side, and Tea Party supporters on the other. Karl Marx supporters want more (Left-Leaning) government, but I believe the Tea Party is all about shrinking government (not getting more Right-Leaning government).

I think lots of the unheralded issues you mention can be solved (or at least can start to be solved) with less government.

Such a shame

I would have thought a cartoonist like yourself would be familiar with the concept of hyperbole as joke. Typical Liberal hatefulness has been removed here by the OWNER of this site.
